The Botanic Garden of Nantes

Take a breath of fresh air during your stay at the Sure Hotel by Best Western Nantes Saint-Herblain in the Jardin des Plantes.

Located in the heart of the city center, the garden of plants is a botanical garden of 7 ha. It attracts more than 2 million visitors every year.

Labeled "Remarkable Garden", the Botanical Garden of Nantes has more than 10 000 living species, 50 000 flowers planted each season and 800 m² of greenhouses. The garden has become a real reference in the world, thanks to its incredible collection of camellias and magnolias.

An amazing and soothing garden...

Stroll in this calm and exotic place! Ideal for all the family, you can admire the different ambiance or read quietly while your children play in the playground "Dépodepo" by Claude Ponti, created for the Voyage à Nantes. The menagerie with chickens, parakeets and goats will also amuse childrens.

And responsible!

Beyond the pleasure of the eyes, the Garden of Plants has 4 major missions. First, the purpose of this garden is to conserve and preserve collections and protected species in the wild.

The Garden of Plants is also the playground of many scientists.

The city of Nantes wants to give an educational role to the garden: municipal courses and visits are regularly organized. Find all along your ride, educational areas with several information on plants.

Finally, the Garden's mission is to take care of the plants and to cultivate them.

The Jardin des Plantes regularly offers exhibitions.
