The garden consists of many rockeries and waterfalls is organized around 3 traditional Japanese buildings: the Capitainerie, the House of Erdre and the restaurant, where you can have a gourmet break.
In the House of Erdre, also called the tea house, you can discover the life of the many plants and fish that populate the Erdre. The tea house regularly hosts exhibitions.
The Capitainerie manages the activities of the port of Erdre. You may also enjoy to rent an electric boat or a canoe to discover the Erdre.
The origins of the island
Originally a marsh, the island of Versailles was created during the digging of the Nantes-Brest Canal. It was then the seat of many craft activities related to the Erdre. Then it was transformed in 1986 into a Japanese garden.

You can access the island by tramway line 2 stops Saint-Mihiel / Motte Rouge or Chronobus C6: stop Bonde
